Your supervisor has a big announcement for you: You will now be in charge of your company's safety and health program. By the way, you will also train ALL employees on safety and health in the workplace. But who will train you in order to train everyone else?

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) has developed a new two-day "Train the Trainer" workshop to give you the tools necessary to be able to teach workplace safety and health basics. The FREE course is scheduled to be in Ashland on October 9 & 10 from 8:00am to 5:00pm each day at the Stephenson Union Building on Southern Oregon University's campus, 1250 Siskiyou Boulevard in Ashland.

The workshop will cover an overview of Oregon OSHA training requirements, how to develop an effective safety training program, developing classroom presentation skills and conducting on-the-job (OJT) training.

Six of the two-day "Train the Trainer" workshops are scheduled across the state during the coming twelve months, including classes in Beaverton, Bend, Eugene, Portland and Salem. This will be the only opportunity for southern Oregon residents to take advantage of this comprehensive workplace training during the next twelve months. Space for the Ashland workshop is limited, so attendees should register as soon as possible.
