No-cost pesticide protection training class in The Dalles

The Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) will provide a free training session about pesticide safety issues for mid-Columbia region residents in November.

The training will review Oregon OSHA's ‘Worker Protection Standard' for protecting workers at risk of being exposed to pesticides, primarily agricultural workers. A special emphasis of the class will discuss providing effective training to workers whose primary language is not English.

The training workshop will be held Thursday, November 21st from 8:00am to Noon at Columbia Gorge Community College - Kitchen Training Center Room #1, 400 East Scenic Drive in The Dalles. Oregon OSHA provides workshop materials for participants.

This class qualifies for three (3) credit hours of pesticide re-certification training for Oregon-certified pesticide applicators and consultants.

Oregon OSHA offers a variety of conferences, on-site training, educational resources and consultation services to help Oregon employers create safer workplaces and reduce the amount of productivity lost due to injuries which occur at work. Additional information and resources are available on Oregon OSHA's website, www.orosha.org

For more information about this workshop or to register, call the Oregon OSHA Education Section, (503) 947-7443, or toll-free in Oregon, (888) 292-5247 Option 2.
