Rules and Compliance
Oregon
OSHA's rules are separated into divisions. Division 1 applies to all employers
in addition to any of the rules in Divisions 2-7. Divisions 3-7 deal with specific
industries. Division 2 covers employers that are not explicitly covered by Divisions
3-7.

- Division 2, General Occupational Safety and Health Rules
Safety and health rules that apply to all places of employment that are not covererd by Divsions 3-7. Most
workplaces are covered by Division 2.
- Division 3, Construction
Rules that apply to all construction activity, including demolition, blasting, and use of explosives.
- Division 4, Agriculture
Rules that apply to all agricultural operations with a Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code of 01,
02, and 0711, 0721, 0722, 0723, 0761, 0762, and 0811.
- Division 5, Maritime Activities
Rules that apply to shipyards, marine terminals, and longshoring.
- Division 7, Forest Activities
Rules that apply to all forest activities, including chemical application, chipping, clearing and slash disposal,
firefighting, forest road construction, maintenance and decommissioning, log dumps, ponds, plant-site log
yards and independent sort yards, log hauling, marking, pulpwood and non-pulpwood logging, reforestation/vegetation
management, stream restoration, timber cutting and thinning operations, and timber cruising.
